Rouge Pots from The Hatcher Collection

This set of Chinese rouge pots is from what is known as The Hatcher Collection. Captain Michael Hatcher salvaged these pots from a shipwreck of a Chinese vessel just prior to 1984. The ship was wrecked around 1640, a period known as The Transitional Period. These ceramic pots were stored in the very bottom of the ship's holds and were beautifully preserved for hundreds of years. One of the pots is marked with Christie's label reading "Hatcher's Collection Christie's June '84." These pots measure approximately 1 1/4" tall and 2" wide. Wonderful pieces of the Hatcher Cargo.
